Sales tax shall be abolished in Tallinn, Estonia
The Parliament of Estonia has decided to abolish the sales tax in Tallinn beginning from January 1, 2012. Sales tax in Tallinn was implemented from the beginning of June 1, 2010 by Tallinn City Government. Rate of the sales tax is 1% from the value of the sales of goods and services In Tallinn. As The Parliament was in opinion that sales tax is not fair and has caused price recovery in Tallinn then it was decided to abolish the tax that among other things restricted the freedom of enterprise in Estonia.
